Folks often come to my practice because they are experiencing feelings of hopelessness, helplessness, feeling stuck, experiencing interpersonal
relationship difficulties, or feelings of low self-worth.
The work I do centers around practicing forms of mindfulness, connection to body, connection to discernment, through an integrated use of these different sources of wisdom that each
of us inherently carry. I have seen in my own practice and in others that cessation of suffering involves a practice of moving through and with the entirety of what we feel. Often, from trauma,
we are not ready to feel that fullness, and must instead find our growth edge.
Successful therapy does not “fix” something that appears to be broken, but rather equips us to hold ourselves and others with compassion, curiosity, and discernment. Through this, we
learn how to discern and accept the things that we can change, and the things that we cannot. I have witnessed and experienced this approach being helpful in navigating relationship with self, with
others, with work, creativity, and navigating the complexity of living through oppressive systems.
Therapy does not fix the pain of being human, but it might offer another way to relate to that pain. Maybe you were never broken to begin with.
